What is DAAM? It refers to a functional monomer with a dual functional group structure that simultaneously contains polymerizable vinyl groups and ketocarbonyl groups. It can be used as a copolymerizing monomer to attach to the main chain of various polymer materials, and can also impart special cross-linking properties to the polymer through subsequent reactions of the ketocarbonyl groups. It is currently a widely used functional modification additive in the industrial field.
The core advantage of DAAM lies in its controllable reactivity. Under normal emulsion polymerization conditions, it can efficiently copolymerize with common monomers such as acrylate, styrene, and vinyl acetate, and almost never encounters gelation problems during the polymerization process. Subsequently, only a small amount of azide-type curing agent is needed to complete the crosslinking reaction at room temperature without additional heating. This makes it highly suitable for the production needs of current environmentally friendly water-based products. Unlike ordinary acrylamide monomers, the large steric hindrance side groups in the molecular structure of DAAM can significantly enhance the weather resistance and chemical resistance of the polymer. Adding a small amount can achieve a notable performance improvement effect. In recent years, with the rapid development of the domestic water-based industrial coatings industry, the market demand for DAAM has also maintained a steady growth trend. Weifang Chemidea Chemicals, relying on its technical accumulation in special azide products and functional acrylate monomers, can provide customers with a one-stop supply solution of DAAM and its corresponding curing agents, reducing the cost of raw material matching and debugging for customers.
